Vayntrub is a Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic (USSR) native and an American Jew. At the age of two, she and her parents immigrated to the U.S. as refugees to escape antisemitism, settling in West Hollywood. When she was five she started appearing in Mattel Barbie commercials.
